Programs

For adults:
All eight KP regions offer a wide variety of weight management programs for adults. Elements common to all programs include health education about:

  • Healthy lifestyle (moving from ‘dieting' to making healthy food choices)
  • Physical activity (how to include exercise in daily activities)
  • Healthy eating (identifying triggers to unhealthy eating, how to shop for healthy foods, how to eat healthily away from home)

Programs range from single sessions to 12 - 18 month programs. Most programs are internal.

Bariatric surgery is available Programwide when medically indicated.

For children and teens:
Weight management programs and interventions include:

  • Single or multiple session health education
  • individual visits with registered dietician, health educator, behavioral health practitioner, and/or physician
  • telephone or email followup

KP regions often offer programs through outside vendors, for example, community-based programs like Kidshape , and No Weigh.
