Get More Energy© initiative for children and adolescents

We want to help our younger members develop healthy skills that can last them their entire lives. The key points in our Get More Energy© initiative apply to all kids—our goal is to place a poster displaying them in KP pediatric exam rooms nationwide.

The key messages for kids and teens are:

More energy means more fun!

Get up and play hard.
At least 30 - 60 minutes a day.

Cut back on TV and video games.
No more than one hour/day.
Take the TV out of the bedroom.

Eat five helpings of fruits and vegetables every day.

Cut down on sodas and juice drinks.
No more than one can or small drink a day.
Drink water when thirsty.

Healthy, strong bodies come in all shapes and sizes.

Tipsheets (in English, Spanish, and Chinese) for parents help them to help their children manage their weight.
