Overweight and obesity in adults

Research shows that physical activity, even without any weight loss, can reduce the risk of developing heart disease.¹ Losing 5% to 10% of excess body weight (as little as 8-10 pounds) can reduce the risk of developing heart disease and diabetes.² A 100 kcal/day energy gap every day (walking a mile or eating a few bites less at each meal) could prevent weight gain for most people.³
