"We feel very fortunate to be able to hire Carolyn for this new role. She has a rich and extensive background in medical care quality, including hospital and continuum of care compliance with regulatory and accrediting agency standards, clinical risk management, and patient safety, said Alide Chase, Vice President for Quality & Service in Program Offices. "She is familiar with the challenges Kaiser Permanente faces in developing and executing on our quality agenda."

"Carolyn is a gifted leader who will help both the quality department and CMI think strategically about how to support our client regions to achieve organizational quality goals and system-wide quality improvement," said Jed Weissberg, MD, Associate Executive Director of Quality and Performance Improvement for the Permanente Federation and Chair of the CMI Board of Directors.

"Our organization is at the point where we will catapult to greatness," said Days Mustille. "Several things have us at this tipping point: KP HealthConnect, a strong leadership with a clear quality vision, a changing culture that is committed to being the best in clinical quality and service. CMI and QRM are positioned to be pivotal in our organization's success, and we have the right team in place to be the catalyst to make it happen. I'm very excited and honored to be a part of this team."
